Greater London Authority Bill — 19 Jan 1999
Patrick McLoughlin MP, West Derbyshire voted with the majority (No).
I beg to move amendment No. 19, in page 2, line 2, leave out from 'members' to end of line 6 and insert
'representing the multi-member constituencies determined by the Local Government Commission under subsection (4) below.'.
That charming hyperbole comes fittingly from its author.
Question put, That the amendment be made:--
The Committee divided: Ayes 44, Noes 461.
Votes by party, red entries are votes against the majority for that party.
What is Tell? '+1 tell' means that in addition one member of that party was a teller for that division lobby.
What are Boths? An MP can vote both aye and no in the same division. The boths page explains this.
What is Turnout? This is measured against the total membership of the party at the time of the vote.
|Party||Majority (No)||Minority (Aye)||Both||Turnout|
|Lab||335 (+2 tell)||0||0||80.8%|
|LDem||0||38 (+2 tell)||0||87.0%|
