Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill — Change abortion limit from 24 weeks to 12 weeks — rejected — 20 May 2008 at 22:00

The majority of MPs voted against adding a new paragraph to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill to change the time limit for the legal termination of pregnancy from 24 weeks to 12 weeks.[1]

The 24 week limit is recorded in the Abortion Act 1967.[2] This limit had most recently been set by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990.[3]
