55B: After Clause 48, insert the following new Clause-
"Entry otherwise than by sea or air: immigration control
In section 10 of the Immigration Act 1971 (c. 77) (entry otherwise than by sea or air), after subsection (1A), insert-
"(1AB) An Order in Council made under subsection (1) must not include provision relating to immigration control.""This amendment would prevent the Government from establishing immigration control at the land border between Eire and Northern Ireland.
