Constitutional Reform and Governance Bill — Civil Service annual report — rejected — 3 Nov 2009 at 22:00

Philip Davies MP, Shipley voted in the minority (Aye).

The majority of MPs voted against adding a new clause to the Constitutional Reform and Governance Bill which read:

  • The Minister for the Civil Service must publish and lay before Parliament an annual report on the functioning of the civil service of the state.
  • Reports will also be laid before the Scottish Parliament by the First Minister for Scotland, and before the National Assembly for Wales by the First Minister for Wales
  • Such a report must include details on the costs and numbers of civil servants by each government department and agency, and a comprehensive definition of the civil service of the state for that year.
