The majority of MPs voted to cap civil service redundancy payments at a maximum of 12 months’ pay for compulsory redundancy and 15 months’ for voluntary exits.
Technically the vote was on an amendment proposing leaving out clause one of the Superannuation Bill[1], the part titled:
