David Laws MP, Yeovil voted against allowing British citizens living outside the United Kingdom to vote in the referendum on the electoral system for the house of commons.
The majority of MPs voted against allowing British citizens living outside the United Kingdom to vote in the referendum on the electoral system for the house of commons.
Conservative MP Graham Brady tabled the amendment to insert the following on page 2, line 19 of the Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Bill, the section of the Bill which lists who is eligible to vote:
- (d) British citizens living outside the United Kingdom and not currently entitled to vote as electors at a parliamentary election in any constituency.
- (1A) The Minister shall, within one month of the day on which this Act is passed, by Order provide for a system of prior registration of those entitled to vote in the referendum under subsection (1)(d) above, and for mechanisms by which their votes can be cast.'

Votes by party, red entries are votes against the majority for that party.
What is Tell? '+1 tell' means that in addition one member of that party was a teller for that division lobby.
What are Boths? An MP can vote both aye and no in the same division. The boths page explains this.
What is Turnout? This is measured against the total membership of the party at the time of the vote.
