Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Bill — Continuation of Consideration of the Bill — 17 Jan 2011 at 27:31

The majority of members of the House of Lords voted to continue their consideration of the Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Bill.

The House of Lords was considering the Parliamentary Voting System and Constituencies Bill[1]. The motion rejected in this vote, held at twenty to four in the morning, was:

  • That the House do now resume.

Had it been passed this motion would have resulted in the House of Lords stopping its consideration of the Bill; as it was the consideration continued, punctuated by a number of votes to stop the debate, until just before 1pm the day after it started[2].
