David Blunkett MP, Sheffield, Brightside and Hillsborough did not vote.

The majority of MPs voted to reduce the voting age to 16

The approved motion stated:

  • That this House believes that the age of eligibility for voting in all elections and referendums in the United Kingdom should be reduced to 16.
