The majority of MPs voted for a proposed new timetable for the House of Commons[1] on Wednesday the 17th of April 2013. The change was proposed to allow MPs to attend the funeral of ex Prime Minister Baroness Thatcher. The proposal accepted by the majority of MPs was to delay the start time from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm, and to cancel Prime Minister's questions, and other question sessions.
The reason for canceling the question sessions was given by Andrew Lansley MP[2] as:
- Members should not immediately enter into the character of business customary at Wednesday’s questions
