John Penrose MP, Weston-Super-Mare did not vote.
The majority of MPs voted for voters to be able to recall their elected representatives in specified circumstances. In other words to enable voters to require another election to be held part-way through an elected representative's term of office.
The motion supported by the majority of MPs voting was:
- That leave be given to bring in a Bill to permit voters to recall their elected representatives in specified circumstances; and for connected purposes.
