MPs were considering the Scotland Bill[1]
The amendment rejected in this vote was:
- Amendment 120, page 27, line 22, leave out from beginning to “for”
in line 23 and insert “Arrangements”.
An explanatory note accompanying the rejected amendment stated:
- Amendments 120, 121 and 122 make provision for the Scottish Parliament to have power to legislate on arrangements for employment support programmes.
The specific amendment voted on here appears just to simplify the language of the Bill. At the time of the vote the Bill appeared to stress that payments for employment support could be made to an individual.
The Bill contained a provision giving the devolved administration in Scotland powers over:
- The making by a person of arrangements for, or arrangements for the purposes of or in connection with a scheme for, any of the following purposes [relating to employment support]
The rejected amendment proposed giving the devolved administration in Scotland powers over:
- Arrangements for the purposes of or in connection with a scheme for, any of the following purposes [relating to employment support]
