The majority of MPs voted for the appointment of Jenny Willott to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority.
The motion supported by the majority of MPs was:
- That an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, praying that Her Majesty will appoint Jenny Willott to the office of ordinary member of the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority with effect from 7 August 2016 for the period ending 31 December 2020.
Under the Parliamentary Standards Act, one Member of the IPSA Board must be a person who has been (but is no longer) a member of the House of Commons. Willott, an ex MP, was being appointed to that board position.[1]
