Mr Tony McWalter MP, Hemel Hempstead voted in the minority (Aye).

Mileage rates will no longer be uprated annually.

Instead they will be the highest of the current rate and the Inland Revenue car mileage rates.

The higher rate car mileage allowance will be payable for the first 20,000 miles.
