Identity Cards Bill — New Clause 1 — National Identification Scheme — 10 Feb 2005 at 14:30
George Osborne MP, Tatton did not vote.
I beg to move, That the clause be read a Second time.
Question put, That the clause be read a Second time:-
The clause in question (Clause 1) establishes the main principles of the bill. Those voting Aye in this division agreed to the main principles of the National Identification Scheme Bill.
The House divided: Ayes 128, Noes 221.
Votes by party, red entries are votes against the majority for that party.
What is Tell? '+1 tell' means that in addition one member of that party was a teller for that division lobby.
What are Boths? An MP can vote both aye and no in the same division. The boths page explains this.
What is Turnout? This is measured against the total membership of the party at the time of the vote.
|Party||Majority (No)||Minority (Aye)||Both||Turnout|
|Con||0||93 (+2 tell)||0||59.0%|
|Lab||221 (+2 tell)||0||0||54.7%|
