Education (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 — rejected — 10 Jul 2006 at 20:50
The majority Not Contents defeated an amendment[1] which would have declined to pass the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 2006. This Order, among other effects, abolishes selection by ability as measured in an 11+ exam for admission to secondary schools. The amendment, which was rejected, called for the Order to be postponed until the Northern Ireland Assembly could make the decision itself.
