The majority of MPs voted to express approval for the Government’s assessment of the UK’s economic and budgetary outlook as outlined in the pre-Budget report by the Office for Budget Responsibility.

In doing so they agreed that this assessment, along with the UK's main economic policy measures, can be reported to the European Commission. This formal sharing of information is annual, in keeping with the UK's commitments under Section 5 of the European Communities (Amendment) Act 1993.[1]
