The majority of MPs voted to increase the rate of Air Passenger Duty from 1 April 2013. The lowest level of duty rose from £65 to £67 and the highest from £184 to £188.
The vote took place while MPs were debating the Finance Bill, the vote was on if Clause 183 should "stand part" of the Bill. This clause contained amendments to Section 30 of the Finance Act 1994 where the rates of Air Passenger Duty are set.
