House of Lords Reform (No. 2) Bill — Removing absentees and those convicted of a serious offence from the House of Lords — 18 Oct 2013 at 13:21

The majority of MPs voted against proposed reforms to the House of Lords including:

  • Allowing members of the House of Lords to retire or resign.
  • Making those who do not attend for a whole session lasting more than six months (without permission) cease to be members.
  • Removing those convicted of a serious offence from the House of Lords.
