The proposed new clause, titled Equal opportunities which was rejected in this vote stated:
- In Part 2 of Schedule 5 to the Scotland Act 1998, omit Section L2 (equal opportunities)
An explanatory statement accompanying the rejected amendment set out its intended effect:
- This new clause would devolve equal opportunities to the Scottish Parliament.
Section L2 reserved, to the UK Parliament, powers relating to equal opportunities, including the subject-matter of:
(b)the Sex Discrimination Act 1975,
(c)the Race Relations Act 1976, and
(d)the Disability Discrimination Act 1995
