Charles Walker MP, Broxbourne did not vote.

The majority of MPs to keep the voting age for local government elections at 18 and not reduce it to 16.

MPs were considering the Cities and Local Government Devolution Bill[1].

The proposed new clause rejected in this vote was titled: Governance arrangements for local government: entitlement to vote and stated:

An explanatory note accompanying the new clause stated:

  • This Clause would re-instate the provision in the Bill, as brought from the Lords, allowing votes for 16 and 17 year olds in local government elections.
