Jeremy Quin MP, Horsham voted to allow ministers to modify the European Union (Withdrawal) Act if required to implement the United Kingdom's agreement with the European Union on the terms of its withdrawal.

  • Amendment 30, page 7, line 2, leave out ‘(including modifying this Act)’ and insert “, apart from amending or modifying this Act”.

The rejected amendment was accompanied by the following explanatory statement:

  • This amendment would remove the proposed capacity of Ministers in Clause 9 to modify and amend the Act itself via delegated powers.
