The majority of MPs voted to declare the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community and their Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Armenia, of the other part, signed at Brussels on 24th November 2017 to be an EU Treaty.[1]
The motion supported by the majority of MPs in this vote was:
- That the draft European Union (Definition of Treaties) (Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement) (Armenia) Order 2018, which was laid before this House on 4 June, be approved.
Explanatory notes to the regulation[1] state:
- The Agreement will enhance dialogue with Armenia on domestic reform, human rights, trade and all other areas of mutual interest, including conflict prevention, fighting organised crime and counter-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and their means of delivery.
