The majority of MPs voted for regulations intended to ensure Long Term Alternative Investment Funds are effectively regulated on the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union.
The motion supported by the majority of MPs in this vote was:
- That the draft Long-term Investment Funds (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, which were laid before this House on 17 December 2018, be approved.
The regulations include transferring functions of the European Commission to HM Treasury, and functions of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) to the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
