The majority of MPs voted against a public vote on any agreement setting out arrangements for the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union and on any framework for the future relationship with the union.

The motion rejected by the majority of MPs in this vote was:

  • That this House will not allow in this Parliament the implementation and ratification of any withdrawal agreement and any framework for the future relationship unless and until they have been approved by the people of the United Kingdom in a confirmatory public vote
