The majority of MPs voted to continue arrangements for proxy voting on health grounds, the Speaker limiting the number of MPs present in the House of Commons Chamber, and arrangements for Westminster Hall and select committees to work virtually.

The motion supported by a majority of MPs in this vote was:

On 23 September 2020 the House of Commons decided to permit proxy voting in relation to absence due to "childbirth or care of an infant or newly adopted child".[1]
