School Transport Bill — Clause 1 — School travel schemes — 16 Dec 2004 at 17:00
The Aye-voters failed to change the text of the School Transport Bill to prevent local authorities charging for school transport, and from offering the scheme to children who are attending schools further than could have been arranged.
The actual amendment was: "delete lines 32-39 on page 2 of the Bill". This was one of the amendments that had been part of the batch that had been voted down in Division 20.
Votes by party, red entries are votes against the majority for that party.
What is Tell? '+1 tell' means that in addition one member of that party was a teller for that division lobby.
What are Boths? An MP can vote both aye and no in the same division. The boths page explains this.
What is Turnout? This is measured against the total membership of the party at the time of the vote.
|Party||Majority (No)||Minority (Aye)||Both||Turnout|
|Con||0||107 (+2 tell)||0||66.9%|
|Lab||228 (+2 tell)||0||0||56.5%|
