The majority Aye voters successfully carried the motion[1] that the Government should support the adoption of a European draft regulation:
- 'governing political parties at European level and the rules regarding their funding[2].'
These regulations are symbolic in that they legitimise the idea of pan-European political parties and that a European body is needed to set rules on how they operate.
