The majority of MPs voted against a minor change in the wording of the General Objective of the Marine Management Organization, as outlined in the Marine Conservation Bill.[1]
The current version says:
- The MMO is managed with the objective of making a contribution to the achievement of sustainable development...
The amendment, which was rejected, would have changed these words to:
- The MMO is managed with the objective of furthering sustainable development...
