Constitutional Reform and Governance Bill — New Clause 88 — Referendum on Voting System for Electing MPs — 9 Feb 2010 at 21:45

The majority of MPs voted in favour of a referendum on the voting system for parliamentary elections, with the options of retaining first past the post or moving to an alternative-vote system, to be held no later than 31 October 2011.

Technically the vote was on adding a new clause, clause 88, to the Constitutional Reform and Governance Bill
