Academies Bill — Personal, Social and Health Education in Academy School Curricula -rejected — 21 Jul 2010 at 21:30
The majority of MPs voted against requiring academy schools to have a curriculum which includes personal, social and health education.
Academy schools only have to follow the National Curriculum in core subjects.[3]
Diana Johnson (Kingston upon Hull North, Labour) proposed the amendment which read:
- in clause 1, page 2, line 2, at end insert:
- ( ) the school has a curriculum which includes personal, social and health education as a statutory entitlement for all pupils;
