The majority of MPs voted to abolish child trust funds.
MPs were debating the Savings Accounts and Health in Pregnancy Grant Bill. The amendment voted on and rejected was:

This would have removed the Clause from the bill titled Removal of eligibility for child trust fund which abolishes new child trust fund accounts starting with those born after the 3rd of January 2011.
