Finance Bill — Clause 10 — Report on Capital Allowance Changes — 4 May 2011 at 15:00
The majority of MPs voted against requiring a report on the effect of changes to capital allowances (the amount spent on assets which can be written off against profits for Corporation Tax purposes).
MPs were considering the Finance Bill[1]. The amendment rejected in this vote was:
- Amendment 6, page 6, line 22, at end add—
- (14) The Chancellor shall publish, by 31 October 2012, an assessment of the impact of the changes to capital allowances on the UK economy.’.
Had it not been rejected the above subclause would have been added to the end of Clause 10 of the Bill titled Plant and machinery writing-down allowances
