European Commission Work Programme 2014 and Support for Completion of the EU Single Market — 22 Jan 2014 at 18:39
The majority of MPs voted to support the that view that promoting jobs and growth in the EU, including by completing the EU Single Market, is the top priority.
The text of the approved motion was:
- That this House
- takes note of European Union Document No. 15521/13 and Addendum, a Commission Communication: Commission Work Programme 2014;
- agrees that this document is a useful tool for planning the Government’s and Parliament’s engagement with the EU in 2014; and
- supports the Government’s view that measures which promote growth and jobs in the EU, including measures towards completing the Single Market, are the top priority.
The expression of support for "completing the Single Market" makes this a pro-EU motion.
