The majority of MPs voted in favour of a database of innovative medical treatments.

The majority of MPs taking part voted in favour of a motion stating:

  • That, for the purposes of any Act resulting from the Access to Medical Treatments (Innovation) Bill, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of money provided by Parliament of any increase attributable to the Act in the sums payable under any other Act out of money so provided.

The Access to Medical Treatments (Innovation) Bill[1][2] :

  • Permits the establishment, by Government, of a database of innovative medical treatments carried out by doctors, including the results of such treatments. The database would cover England only.
