The majority of MPs voted against requiring detailed annual reporting of costs incurred by certain occupational pension schemes.

The proposed amendment rejected in this vote was:

  • Amendment proposed: 1, page 8, line 13, at end insert—
  • “( ) A minimum requirement of annual reporting of administration, fund management costs and transaction costs for each asset class, drawdown product and for active and passive asset management strategies.”

The rejected amendment was accompanied by the following explanatory note:

  • This amendment would introduce annual reporting and inclusion of transaction costs requirements for Master Trusts.

Had it not been rejected the amendment would have added a subclause to clause 11 of the Bill[2] which set out what may be included in regulations made relating to the running of certain pension schemes.

The motion rejected in this vote was:

  • That the amendment be made.
