The majority of MPs voted to remove the requirement on United Kingdom mobile operators to guarantee surcharge-free roaming for customers in the European Union after the United Kingdom leaves the European Union.
The motion supported by the majority of MPs in this vote was:
- That the draft Mobile Roaming (EU Exit) Regulations 2019, which were laid before this House on 4 February, be approved.
The regulations made other amendments to ensure other aspects of the law would continue to operate as intended following withdrawal.
