The majority of MPs voted to stop certain "public sector" bodies from generally making exit payments above £95,000 in connection with a person leaving employment or vacating office.
The motion supported by a majority of MPs in this vote was:
- That the draft Restriction of Public Sector Exit Payments Regulations 2020, which were laid before this House on 21 July, be approved.
Those bodies subject to the regulations are listed in a schedule which forms part of the regulations, and includes bodies with private sector ownership such as Pool Reinsurance Company Limited.
