The majority of MPs voted to permit a new type of nuclear energy generation technology, agreeing its use is justified given the balance of benefits verses detriments.
The technology in question generates electricity from nuclear energy using oxide fuel of low enrichment in fissile content in a light water cooled, light water moderated thermal reactor known as EPR.
