The majority of MPs voted to limit the amount of Housing Benefit that working age claimants in the social rented sector are entitled to, based on their household size and to set the rates of Local Housing Allowance, which is a key factor in determining the amount of housing benefit paid for private rented accommodation.
The motion approved by the majority of MPs was:
- That the draft Housing Benefit (Amendment) Regulations 2012, which were laid before this House on 28 June, be approved.
