The majority of MPs voted not to require any proposals for restructuring or reforming the probation service be approved by both Houses of Parliament.
The following proposed new clause for the Offender Rehabilitation Bill was rejected in the vote:
- The Secretary of State may not undertake a national restructure or reform of the provision of probation services unless the proposals have first been laid before, and approved by a resolution of, both House of Parliament
