The majority of MPs voted to establish Somerset West and Taunton District Council as a single tier council and to abolish the West Somerset and Taunton Deane councils from 1 April 2019.
The motion supported by the majority of MPs taking part in the vote, and the majority of MPs representing constituencies in England, was:
- That the draft Somerset West and Taunton (Local Government Changes) Order 2018, which was laid before this House on 29 March, be approved.
- Explanatory notes to the draft Somerset West and Taunton (Modification of Boundary Change Enactments) Regulations 2018 and Somerset West and Taunton (Local Government Changes) Order 2018
Votes by party, red entries are votes against the majority for that party.
What is Tell? '+1 tell' means that in addition one member of that party was a teller for that division lobby.
What are Boths? An MP can vote both aye and no in the same division. The boths page explains this.
What is Turnout? This is measured against the total membership of the party at the time of the vote.
