UK Withdrawal from the European Union — Leaving Without an Agreement — 13 Mar 2019 at 19:00
The majority of MPs voted not just against leaving the European Union without a Withdrawal Agreement and a Framework for the Future Relationship on the 29th of March, but against doing so on any date.
MPs were considering a motion stating:
- That this House
- declines to approve leaving the European Union without a Withdrawal Agreement and a Framework for the Future Relationship on 29 March 2019;
- and notes that leaving without a deal remains the default in UK and EU law unless this House and the EU ratify an agreement.
The amendment supported by the majority of MPs in this vote was:
- Amendment (a) Line 1, leave out from “House” to end and add
- “rejects the United Kingdom leaving the European Union without a Withdrawal Agreement and a Framework for the Future Relationship.”.
