The majority of MPs voted to hold a General Election on the 12th of December 2019.
MPs were considering the Early Parliamentary General Election Bill.
Clause 1(1) of the Bill stated:
- An early parliamentary general election is to take place on 12 December 2019 in consequence of the passing of this Act.
The motion supported by the majority of MPs in this vote was:
- That the Bill be now read the Third time.
The support for the Bill enabled it to continue on its path to becoming law.
