The majority of MPs voted to cap civil service redundancy payments at a maximum of 12 months’ pay for compulsory redundancy and 15 months’ for voluntary exits.
The vote was technically on if the Superannuation Bill[1] should be read a second time ie. if it ought continue on its path towards becoming law.
