Offender Rehabilitation Bill — Parliamentary Approval of Probation Service Reforms — 11 Mar 2014 at 16:33
The majority of members of the House of Lords voted to require the approval of both Houses of Parliament prior to any reforms to the probation service.
The House of Lords was considering the Offender Rehabilitation Bill[1]
The majority of Lords were not content with the Commons amendment[2] to:
- Leave out Clause 1
Clause 1[3][4] would provide that no alteration or reform may be made to the structure of the probation service unless the proposals have been laid before, and approved by resolution of, both Houses of Parliament.[5]
