The majority of MPs voted to introduce a tiered system of restrictions intended to reduce the transmission of COVID-19, with different tiers and restrictions applying in different areas.
The restrictions related to people gathering and the closure of premises and businesses.
The motion supported by the majority of MPs in this vote was:
- That the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (All Tiers) (England) Regulations 2020 (S.I., 2020, No. 1374), dated 30 November 2020, a copy of which was laid before this House on 30 November, be approved.
There was an exemption to the restrictions covering protest.
