Education (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 — rejected — 10 Jul 2006 at 20:50
The majority Not Contents defeated an amendment which would have declined to pass the Education (Northern Ireland) Order 2006. This Order, among other effects, abolishes selection by ability as measured in an 11+ exam for admission to secondary schools. The amendment, which was rejected, called for the Order to be postponed until the Northern Ireland Assembly could make the decision itself.
