Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill — New Clause 10 — Civil Partnerships for All Couples — 20 May 2013 at 22:00
The majority of MPs voted against making Civil Partnerships available to all couples, rather than just same sex couples.
The proposed new clause for the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill which was rejected in this vote stated:
- (1) Part 1 of the Civil Partnership Act 2004 is amended as follows.
- (2) In section 1, subsection (1), leave out “of the same sex”.’.
